Film Classification Research

Film classification is very important to the success of a film. This is because the wrong rating could put the producers and institutes in serious trouble because of such things as nudity and swearing. If a film containing these two things was rated a PG then the institute would get massive fines and would be in big trouble.

U = Can be watched by people of any age
PG = Can be watched by young children as long as they have a parent/guardian with them
12 = For people ages 12 and over
15 = For people aged 15 and over
18 = For people aged 18 and over

Films rated 12 have mild swearing in the so aren't suitable for children. Films rated 15 can contain strong language and nudity so would definitely not be allowed to be seen by people bellow the age of 15 because it may upset them. 18 rated films can contain strong language and strong sex references which arent appropriate for people bellow the age of 18.
